Win a Wii competition results

Wii Competition Winner

Our Autumn 2008 newsletter focused on our commitment to providing outstanding service to our customers. Not all companies manage to achieve these aspirations – so to brighten the dark autumn days we ran a competition to find your favourite customer service stories and jokes.

We had some great entries. The joke that raised the most smiles came from Tracy Weightman of OKI Printing Solutions. Tracey came to our office to receive her prize of a Nintendo Wii, complete with an ‘ace service’ tennis game – just in time for Christmas.

Here's Tracy’s winning entry:

A new business was opening and one of the owner's friends wanted to send flowers for the occasion. They arrived at the new business site and the owner read the card. It said "Rest in Peace".
The owner was angry and called the florist to complain. After he had told the florist of the obvious mistake and how angry he was, the florist said:
"Sir, I'm really sorry for the mistake, but rather than getting angry you should imagine this: somewhere there is a funeral taking place today, and they have flowers with a note saying 'Congratulations on your new location'."

Colin Johnson of Cobra London Markets also made us laugh with the following:

Customer: "I've been ringing 0800 2100 for two days and can't get through to enquiries, can you help?"
Travel Agent: "Where did you get that number from, sir?"
Customer: "It was on the door to the Travel Centre".
Travel Agent: "Sir, they're our opening hours...".

And Matt Clarke from Colliers CRE made us cringe and laugh in equal measure with this anecdote:

There was a new secretary at a company who was on the reception desk to cover over lunchtime. The buzzer went and a low voice asked to see one of the members of staff. The secretary led the visitor to her colleague and said there was a gentleman here to see her. To her horror, as the coat came off she realised that the visitor was actually a woman!

It is fair to say she went away very quickly and very embarrassed!
