Supporting Charities
The CBS team aim to support local charities with a range of activities throughout the year. In the run up to Christmas, we were delighted to be involved in the Ascot News annual Toys and Tins appeal.
A collective effort from the CBS team filled three boxes with a range of dried and canned foodstuffs as well as a selection of toys. In all, more than 200 toys and over 622Kg of food were donated to the appeal by local businesses and members of the public, which were then distributed to local families in need through the Kerith Community Church.
In other activities, and with the help of Connect Reading, we have been able to assist a number of local charities with much needed office equipment.
We have donated furniture to a range of charities including the Stronger Together Programme; Reading Voluntary Action; Circles UK and Ryder-Cheshire Volunteers.
We are also raising support for Foneaid, the mobile phone recycling scheme, which assists Third World countries and also benefits nominated local causes.
We are proud that our contributions have recently been recognised through the Pride of Reading Awards, for which we won the Business in Action Award. We were also nominated for the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Awards, where we were finalists in the Customer Service category.
Do contact us if you are involved in a charity or community scheme where you think our practical help and expertise could assist.
